Leadership with Love

We’re all leaders. It’s just that most of us don’t realize it. Most of us don’t want it. Most of us aren’t good at it. We want to be led, we want to be told what to do as long as it doesn’t go against what we’re already thinking. We want a leader. Why? Same old answer, fear. We’re afraid of what our choices may bring, of what if this or that happens if we decide this. So it’s much easier to just follow or be led. The problem is the majority of leaders are ego-riddled, power hungry, scared little boys and girls that aren’t actually leading they are just saying look at me, look at me.

A leader is selfless, silent, helpful, forceful, gentle, loud, caring, empathetic, tactical, attentive, responsible, open, creative, inspirational, empowering and loving. And that’s just a start. These are traits most would not associate with some or the majority of the leaders we know or have learned about. But again, we are all leaders even though most of us don’t want to be. So it’s time to accept the responsibility of your life and become the leader we all must be.

We are first and foremost the leader of our life, our existence, our attitude, our mindset, our abilities, our everything. Hence, everything we are is of our doing, even though we can sling a bit of blame here and there for a poor upbringing, our DNA or insufficient understanding and knowledge. Once you are of the capacity of making intellectually sound decisions and adjustments in your life, you are your leader, like it or not.

This has been the beginning of our demise when we’ve been trained, conditioned and marketed to believe we need something or someone else to complete us or make us happy or show us the way. Brainwashed to think it is always someone else’s fault or someone else will light the way for us. We must take control of ourselves, else we will continue to be led by the societal and cultural influences of our past that continue to haunt us and stunt our growth. We are all leaders, so let us lead with love. Let us find the strength to be the leader we all want to look up to, be like, and be.

Let us lead with love and build a future together as role models for one another instead of enemies of the ego. Let us lead with love and allow others to flourish in their own minds, jobs, businesses, schools, politics, families, and communities. Let us lead with love so that others will do the same.

Wouldn’t that be a beautiful place.

Lead thyself, conquer thy world.

Know-thyself-self-awareness.jpg

How often in the business world do you hear the word love? At school? At work? In the media? Politics? I would venture to say it is typically a rarity other than in special cases. I’ve heard people say love has no place at work or in the business world, and I inanimately whole-heartedly disagree. If you or I am going to spend the majority of our lives working, doesn’t it make the simplest, most elementary, basic sense that you just might want to love what you are doing and the people around you. If the majority of your life is spent at work, at your job, at your business, might there be some inkling of or hint of love for what you’re doing. How about having teachers who love what they do and that flowing into their classroom and what they’re teaching. How about teaching self-awareness and self-love in school. How about having a CLO at every school and every business.

And then of course there’s politics and (please help me be strong here) the media. Around 7 years ago I stopped watching the news, stopped listening to the media, stopped watching political commentating and reading political articles. Why? I’d say that’s pretty obvious if you’re reading this. You want to see something out of control, something in complete chaos trying everything it can to remain and keep itself as viable and worthy of our time, your viewing and your votes. The current state of politics and the media is at best an embarrassment to the human race. Yes, there are moments of beauty and love in both, but the unfortunate reality is they are few and far between, so I just say no.

So what do we do? What are our options? How do we use the word “love” to better our businesses, better our jobs, better our schools, better our political arena and our media?

Start by pointing the finger

fingerofblame.jpg

We start by pointing the finger in the direction of where all issues and blame arise and are created… You. Unfortunately, the finger of blame points in only one direction. Each time there’s a catastrophic event that happens around the world, done by the hand of a demented human being, the blame wars begin. Who’s at fault? What’s at fault? How can we stop this from happening again?

The truth is we are to blame, humanity, you and me, all of us. Where we are and what we’ve done is to blame for the actions of our species today.

Responsibility is number 1 on the list of tools needed to elevate your life, that also includes responsibility for your species, and your fellow beings. Number 11 is selfless contribution and number 12 is self awareness.

If we are to become what we envision and want for ourselves and our world then we must find a way to work together to do so. Find a way to resolve our differences and create positive growth for all. That way is love.

Nobody said it was easy

Due to our pre-historic, evolutionary programming it can be and is for most, quite difficult to see beyond our fixed, closed values, beliefs and views. We are conditioned and taught to believe a certain way, and that is all. It is time for our small selves (ego and our group societal egos) to take responsibility for our small fixed worlds and open the doors to discussions and understanding from all walks of life. This does not mean the destruction of the sacred fixed belief systems that we have been sold holds our world and countries together. But it does mean somethings will need to grow, somethings will need love. If there are to be solutions that better our existence on this planet than there will need to be cooperation with love as the basis.

What does this mean?

betteryoume.png

Businesses should have a single core goal, of course with others around this, but the vision is…

Better me, Better you, Better world which can be roughly translated into Love me, Love you, Love the world. And then the normal business specific types of goals, but first and foremost to the betterment of self, all others involved and the world. How many businesses that you know of have this as their core vision?

What if this was the motto of all schools? Of all politics? Of the media? The betterment of all of us is the core. This is surely not the core of politics and definitely not the media. Those are power to the party only systems, closed, fixed, and biased.

That’s stupid you might say. That’ll never work you’re mumbling under your breath. You’re crazy.

All maybe true, but wouldn’t that be a much more beautiful world to live in. We definitely see this type of mentality and togetherness in the world, but to date it is for sure the minority.

This is not suggesting or insinuating any type of political or economic structures that most argue over and accuse the other side of being. This is simply taking what we have and making it better by being the human beings we were meant to and are capable of being.

It all starts with you

This is your show, your world, your reality bubble. You are taking responsibility of it and sharing your love of self with your comrades of the human race. We make a difference, we better ourselves and our world, by starting with numero uno, yes you. But I can’t make a difference. Sure you can’t, especially if you don’t do anything.

The world changes one person at a time.

Business changes one person at a time.

Schools change one person at a time.

Politics change one person at a time.

The media changes one person at a time.

Be that one person.

No one can honestly say that they do not need love. In fact to be devoid of love causes all sorts of catastrophic issues in the psychology of our human minds. So wouldn’t it make sense that all of our societal, economic and cultural entities that have historically been deprived of love, become infused with it, making the core of these institutions now answer the 3 simple questions. Does it better you? Does it better me? Does it better the world?

What’s the answer?

The simple answer is, it’s not that simple. We want to point the finger and find the exact cause, but we are the cause, we are the issue. The betterment of ourselves is the only answer. The growth of our abilities to work together beyond our fixed, closed belief systems is the answer. Understanding ourselves, learning how our brains work and why, is the answer. Standing up for our race and not our parties is the answer. Like it or not, we are it. This is our planet and our home. Our responsibility and our species.

We can either remain with the animals or become the beings we are destined to be. We can hide in fear and do nothing or we can rise with love and grow together. We can open our minds and beliefs in order to save our planet and our species. We can love ourselves, one another and everything. We can do this in our lives, in our jobs, in our businesses, in our schools, in our politics and our media. It starts with you.
